Character & classification
The first impression in the glass is soft and slightly malty. In addition to the typical Jameson mildness, there are roasted notes reminiscent of dark malt. Alcohol remains discreetly integrated.
Compared to the classic Jameson, the profile shifts towards depth and spice. The stout barrel maturation brings malty and slightly chocolaty accents without developing bitterness. Compared to stronger cask finish bottlings, the style remains restrained and accessible. Fruit plays a secondary role, with structure and roasted aromas dominating the line.
Taste & aromas
Nose: Grain, malt and subtle roasted notes. The impression is warm and calm.
Palate: Soft and round, with malty sweetness, light chocolate and mild spice.
Finish: Medium length. Malt and grain remain present without becoming dry.
Serving recommendation
Served neat, the balance of mildness and roasted aromas is evident. The profile becomes even softer with a little water. Can also be used in highballs when a smooth whiskey character is required.
